The Farm Houses

Set within the ensemble of the Winery or in the vineyard of Chafariz, enjoying the rural landscape and the mountains, the tourist accommodations of Quinta dos Capuchos offer restful and pleasant stays.

The Farm Houses, full of character, reflect the era in which they were built and inhabited by generations of the family and have been rehabilitated according to the methods and materials of the time.

Materials from the estate itself were used, notably stone in the walls and in the outdoor patios; and wood, in the roofs, ceilings, and chimneys, within a framework of environmental sustainability, now complemented with renewable energy.

From the rural robustness of the "Casa Velha" (Old House) with its original shutters and ceiling and an extraordinary chimney, to the minimalist and elegant interior of the "Casa do Mestre" (Master's House), through to the comfortable class of the woodwork in the "Casa dos Capuchos" (Capuchos's House), we offer a variety of comfortable environments.

All houses have internet and essential appliances, with the washing machines being shared (one for the houses of Sta Thereza and another for the Houses of Chafariz).

At the start of their stay, guests find ingredients for their first breakfast, a basket with local fruits, and wine from Quinta dos Capuchos.

Casa da Adega (Winery House)

The "Casa da Adega" (Winery House) from 1925, adjacent to the Old Winery, is a first-floor, small house with a very unique character, where the kitchen stands out. Although it integrates contemporary equipment, it retains an old chimney, as well as the ceiling beams made of cork wood.

It consists of a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom (with plenty of natural light), and a kitchen with access to a balcony from where one can enjoy a magnificent landscape with the Santa Thereza vineyard nearby and the Alcobaça area with good visibility of the towers of the Alcobaça Monastery.

In the rehabilitation of this house, the fundamental elements were preserved: the stone walls, the interior wooden partition walls, the lime plaster, and the old chimney.

It has the capacity for two adults – in a bedroom with two beds (which can be converted into a double bed) and possibly a child on a sofa in the living room.

The kitchen is small but very cozy and is equipped with a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator, and television.

Casa Velha (Old House)

The "Casa Velha" (Old House), built in 1910 and adjacent to the Winery, retains its original architectural elements, including interior doors with old door knockers, shutters and wooden ceiling, terracotta floors, and an extraordinary chimney... within which cooking is done. The walls are lime-plastered.

It is a ground floor and from the main access to the bathroom, it is prepared for people with reduced mobility.

It rests within a historical framework of environmental sustainability, integrating materials from the estate itself or the region - the stone of the exterior walls are sandstones resulting from clearing stones to create agricultural soils; the huge lintel of the chimney is a large cork trunk -, the walls are lime-plastered, and the floor is terracotta.

From the kitchen, one can access the balcony overlooking the Santa Tereza vineyard (and the towers of the Alcobaça Monastery).

The "Casa Velha" (Old House) consists of a bedroom with a double bed, traditional kitchen, bathroom, and a large living room with two sofas, one of which is a sofa bed. Thus, it can accommodate 2 to 4 people.

The kitchen is spacious, equipped with a ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, coffee machine, refrigerator, dishwasher, and television.

Guests can enjoy (shared) the "Casa da Eira", very close - a large porch, with oven and fireplace for barbecues, tables, and chairs for meals next to a small display of rural utensils or also outdoors in the large threshing floor in front.

Casa do Jardim (Garden House)

The "Casa do Jardim" (Garden House), located next to the Santa Thereza vineyard, was built in 1970, (approximately … square meters) is a low first floor (… number of steps to access through the garden) and is surrounded by the garden.

It consists of two bedrooms (one with a double bed and the other with two single beds) and a living room, with a dining table, chairs, and sofas (one being a sofa bed), a bathroom, and a kitchen.

The kitchen is equipped with a stove, electric oven, coffee machine, and refrigerator.

It has the capacity for 4 people, potentially two more on the living room sofa.

It has a barbecue and a pool (shared) in the Garden.
